Miniature Worlds Afloat
2022 Hermes’s theme was ‘Lightness’, and for the spring season in these airports we have interpreted it not only as the absence of gravity but also as a sense of freedom and a carefree life.
We have brought to the windows magical worlds where gravity has no boundaries and things happen in the air.
In one window mignature plots of land, normally earthbound, are now in the sky. A miniature man flies a kite that hold together all these floating islands. Each little landscape is inhabited by a world, a boat on a lake, a domed monument and a countryside home.
In another window the tail of a pink kite becomes a road along which a little city has sprouted. Here, the clouds have become a mountain landscape surrounding it.
In a third window the products are hot-air balloons lifting into cloud cities. Clouds, in fact, have morphed into the shapes of buildings and monuments at dusk.
